for Applied Genomics

We warmly welcome you to come and meet our certified instructors at our Applied Genomics Center of Excellence in Hamburg, Germany. Coming to our Hamburg training facility will offer you a unique opportunity of acquiring specialized knowledge on your PerkinElmer solutions allowing you to achieve the best performance in your workflow.

PerkinElmer training courses combine in-depth theory, hands-on exercises and workflow coaching by our certified trainers and instructors. During the courses, there’s plenty opportunity to have interactive discussions with our workflow experts who combine years of laboratory experience with excellent tutoring skills. By spending hands-on time on PerkinElmer solutions in our fully equipped training lab, you’ll pave the path to maximizing the potential of your applications.

Apart from providing a high learning efficiency without distractions from your daily tasks, the evening will offer you with a chance to indulge yourself in Germany’s second largest, extremely vibrant and most important harbor city. Complimentary to ensuring you’ll gain the knowledge and expertise you seek during the day, we’ll host you with an evening activity turning our training course into an experience which will make you want to come back for more. This 2 days hands-on training will allow new users or users implementing new assays with the knowledge and confidence to analyze their samples using the LabChip technology.  This training will cover the following core topics:

  • Best practices for using your LabChip instrument;
  • Review of best practices for running chips and kits;
  • Hands-on chip preparation and sample analysis;
  • Data reviewing & troubleshooting;

This 3 days hands-on training will allow users to independently set-up new automated applications, optimize the pipetting performance and perform basic maintenance tasks on the JANUS G3 Liquid Handler.  This training will cover the following core topics:

  • Deck calibration;
  • Creation and implementation of labware;
  • Introduction to liquid handling concepts;
  • Best practices guidelines for when developing new applications;
  • Hands-on application development using the wizard templates in WinPREP;
  • Best practices for pipetting performance optimization;
  • Introduction to using worklists and hands-on exercises;
  • Executing basic maintenance tasks;

The 1.5 days plate::works™ User Training will include a comprehensive training for all features of plate::works, enabling the participants to not only fully understand plate::works, but also to set it up on site with the ability to troubleshoot problems.

This training will cover the following topics:

  • Introduction to software
  • Hands-on application development
  • Integration of worklists by using scripting functions
  • Optimize Scheduling and Re-scheduling
  • Tips and tricks
  • Troubleshooting

This 1.5 days of hands-on training will allow users to run their pre-installed NGS applications according to our best practices.  This training will cover the following topics:

  • Introduction to the system hardware and software;
  • Hands-on walk-through various NGS library preparation methods;
  • Best practices, tips, tricks and guidelines for optimal results;
  • Troubleshooting;

This 3 days hands-on training will allow users to independently set-up new (NGS) applications, alter existing (NGS) applications, optimize pipetting performance and perform basic maintenance tasks on the Sciclone G3 and Zephyr G3 (NGS) workstations.  This training will cover the following core topics:

  • Review of the Maestro software architecture;
  • Method development using high level, low level and method control instruction commands;
  • Introduction to variables and hands-on exercises;
  • Introduction to importing archives and hands-on exercises;
  • Best practices for pipetting performance optimization;
  • Running VBA/VSTA macro’s and hands-on exercises;
  • Executing basic maintenance tasks and error recovery;

This service provides users with a full day in the lab with one of our application specialists.  The users get a chance to dive into their own, very specific cases, examples or requirements, assisted by our experts.  This service enables an interactive and personal approach to solve user-specific problems and to discuss different strategies to tackle a certain challenge.  Access to the lab enables hands-on practice and execution on the instrument of interest, to maximize the return on investment.
