The NEXTFLEX® Core Exome NGS Hybridization Panel (RUO) covers >90% of curated genes in ClinGen and National Human Genome Research Institute’s Clinical Genomic Database. It is one of the most comprehensive clinical research exome panels with ~6,000 genes, curated, designed and optimized over many years. The “Medical Exome Project” aimed at annotating and developing a targeted exome for clinical research applications was started over six years ago by researchers from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Harvard University, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Madhuri Hegde, who currently leads the PerkinElmer Genomics service lab, is one of the main contributors to the “Medical Exome Project” and is the architect behind the NEXTFLEX® Core Exome NGS Hybridization Panel.
