Pre-Plated Kits: The Next Advancement in Increasing Throughput for NGS Workflows

Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) DNA library construction kits are essential to various sequencing applications and workflows. Although these techniques are powerful, especially when automated, they still require a significant time investment to setup the plates and reagents. Those long days are now a thing of the past.

Pre-plated versions of the NEXTFLEX® Rapid XP DNA-Seq kit and the NEXTFLEX® Unique Dual Index barcodes allow researchers to leverage the full automation potential of their Sciclone® G3 NGSx and Sciclone® G3 NGSx iQ workstations delivering:

  • Reduced hands-on time and total turnaround time
  • Reduced variability in the setup for library preparation
  • Consistent reagent volume and concentration

You can see the main differences between the pre-plated workflow in Figure 1. Not using the pre-plated reagents requires the researcher to prepare master mixes and barcodes and transfer them to a plate. This manual preparation time can take 1 hour. Using pre-plated reagents, this manual preparation takes only 10 minutes.
